My dream job was always to be a New York City firefighter after my father and grandfather. My father and grandfather both began as city cops and then transferred over to firefighters and both did over 20 years in the city. I am the last kid in my immediate family that has the chance to follow in their footsteps. I’ve been to many firehouses and fires to see how those men and women live their lives on the job and how much fun they have and how much they love their job. When people ask me why a firefighter, I tell them because I want to be able to say that I love my job and I love what I do. In order for me to accomplish this goal I have set other minor goals for me to reach first. My first goal was to graduate high school successfully with no issues. My next goal is to then take the NYC firefighter civil service exam and get a high enough grade to be recognized and to be asked to move on to the next level. My next step is to graduate college and use all 4 years of my athletics eligibility before becoming a full time firefighter.
